Toch zijn er al een aantal bedrijven en organisaties met die naam, maar echte verwarring zal er wellicht niet van komen.
In een globale marktcontext is zoiets haast niet te vermijden. Lotus is niet alleen een gekend Belgisch speculoosmerk, maar ook toiletpapier, software en auto’s. Een goede, originele naam vinden, is allesbehalve evident. Toch lijkt het wat voorbarig om te stellen dat er geen echte verwarring zal komen. Het is aan de rechter om hierover te oordelen. Wanneer de nieuwe Fortis Holding en zijn Zwitserse naamgenoten in dezelfde sector actief zijn of voor dezelfde dienstenklassen geregistreerd zijn, kan er wel eens gedonder van komen.
